Participants Isetsky archeological group of the Institute of history and archaeology, Ural branch of RAS under the leadership of Valentina Viktorova has begun to explore one of the most mysterious types of archaeological monuments — dolmens. They intend to examine the nature of these objects, their age and understand how they were built. Later, scientists hope to develop a special program for the study of Ural megalithic structures of prehistory.
As reported by IPAS Valentine Viktorova, in the next week exploration group Isetsky archaeological team will excavate near one of the dolmens located in the upper reaches of Iset lake near the river moving away the source. Before scientists have a difficult task, you need to determine what is the nature of these megaliths, some of them were created by the man and by what time. After exploratory excavations have been completed, the archaeologists intend to continue the fixation of the objects located in the area and received a code name “isetskii dolmens”. Continue reading
The term “megalith” is not exhaustive, encompasses a very broad, vague and heterogeneous range of structures. Without going into details, the megalith – stone construction of a controversial appointment, as a rule, large size and built with the use of uncertain technology. From the period of construction to our days not got any written evidence, which, coupled with the destructive effects of water, wind, temperature and people makes the study of megaliths very difficult.
Megaliths geography is very wide: they are in Europe . in Asia . in Africa . in North America . in South America … not only in Australia . at least, not yet found. Of course, they are not found in Antarctica . but it is possible that the ice, depending on the area they acquired their own characteristics that are even allowed to split them into culture (Caucasian, South European, British, Indian, and other).

About 17 people, including researchers from Russia, are carrying out an expedition in the Chinese province of Yunnan in the area of Alpine lake Fuxian Hu (the height of 1750 m above sea level). The aim of the expedition is the search for nearly two-hundred-meter depth strange formations resembling pyramids. From the Chinese side the expedition was organized by the archaeological group 722 Komenskeho University, a diving centre Dive and Disport underwater archaeologist Bao Ling, with Russian divers Leonid Gavrilov and Eugen Spiridonov.
Chinese archaeologists did not have the capability to reach such great depths, and lift out the evidence of human activity. However, according to the information received, pyramidal objects are “only” 50-meter depth.
